This seasons' grain traffic
Author: ThrottleJockey

Looks like the first of this years grain traffic is starting to make its way down here through Mobile, Al on CSX in the next few hours. Anyone have any idea of what kind of harvests they'll have or what grain traffic will be like this year? Thanks.

Looks like Indiana will have a bumper crop of corn and soybeans, bad for prices farmers receive, good for
consumers and businesses that use grain products.

Estimated over 1 billion bushels of corn should be harvested in Indiana this year out of 13 billion nationally.

Companies such as Kokomo Grain with rail-served locations in Kokomo and Edinburg will be loading 'em
up and heading 'em south, among other directions....

Iowa should have a bumper crop of corn and soybeans this year. Now if the railroads can deliver.
