[Fr] NS 8101 (Central of Georgia) on 16N?
Author: Lackawanna484

Has anyone seen this train or know where it is? I'm guessing it should in the Harrisburg area or possibly east by now.

Went past the web cam at The Station Inn late yesterday afternoon - probably at it's destination by now, if not on it's next assignment.

Isn't 38G abolished, and now it's K34?

What does the "K" symbol on this K34 train signify? Is NS using that as a prefix for local crews on that part of the system now? It used to be their prefix for foreign-road trains, so it's unfamiliar to me in use for an NS train.

So the 38G/39G is the same as the K34 was?

Such a going on. I remember when they used to be 48G and 49G for a couple of years.

Up until about 2003 or so, NS used both the 300 and 400 series train numbers for miscellaneous freight trains. All the 400s became 300s when it decided to reserve the 400 series for more unit trains.
