Eastern Railroad Discussion > New VRE station south of Fredericksburg, VADate: 11/22/14 15:51 New VRE station south of Fredericksburg, VA Author: cinder Grading is well underway for a new passenger station for the Virginia Railway Express at its Crossroads yard and maintenance facility south of Fredericksburg, VA.
1. A north-looking view that shows the terminal on a weekday/midday with the grading area in the distance. Note a northbound local stopped at an interlocking. 2. A close-up of the station area and adjacent parking lot. 3. A different perspective of the local freight and the maintenance portion of the VRE terminal. It looks like this new station will be a big help for people coming from even farther south. Will the passenger loading area for Amtrak (?) and VRE be on the RF&P main, or on the spur to the service area? Alan Date: 11/23/14 05:21 Re: New VRE station south of Fredericksburg, VA Author: billio Interesting. VRE service takes another (albeit short) step toward Richmond. 56 track miles (roughly) to Main Street Station Richmond. Thanks for posting.
