Eastern Railroad Discussion > New GE stuff in Erie, Pa

I made a rather impromptu trip up to Erie, Pa early yesterday morning (11/22) and found some interesting things around the GE plant/test track. I'm not one for posting pictures on here but figured I'd share these since items coming out of GE have been a hot topic lately. Included are the FEC locomotives.

Also, of note, since this was a VERY spur-of-the-moment decision, one which was made while I had already been out, I did NOT have my standard Canon Digital Rebel T3i with me. Instead, I had to settle for my iPhone 4s which, in my opinion, doesn't do bad for what it is. The mediocre weather didn't help any but I'm just glad I got to shoot these things before they leave the area for good.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. The iPhone doesn't do bad as an alternative to a camera. You just have to make sure you take everything at full wide-angle. Much like the point-and-shoots, the zoom is digital and therefore is just the camera expanding the photo - which quickly makes the quality diminish.

oh, so i post the same photos and i get my butt chewed out for trespassing....people on here i tell ya...

Nice shots with the snow, thats probably the only time they will ever see snow LOL.

Thanks for taking those pixs, I guess that will be the last time those guys have any snow of them!

That will be the last time they will be seeing snow, the guys and gals in Florida are going to be running around like crazy for the next few months chasing down the engines out on the mainline then the newest will be gone, too bad. They are some of the best looking locos in the USA, anyone remember SP's beautiful diesels?? WAY TO GO fec!!

Many years from now someone will post a pic here of an FEC unit in the snow and ask "Whereizit?
