Eastern Railroad Discussion > My pics of "Miss Liberty" and NS #1071Date: 11/23/14 07:09 My pics of "Miss Liberty" and NS #1071 Author: Mgoldman Keeping true to a formerly announced ban on calling NS #1071 "Miss Liberty",
I present "Miss Liberty" and NS #1071 in CNJ heritage as captured 11/22/2014 in Norristown PA. I was actually out taking pics and going on a first ever ride over the 1907 built former Philadelphia and Western Railroad line otherwise known as the Norristown High Speed Line - nice surprise! /Mitch Date: 11/23/14 07:23 Re: My pics of "Miss Liberty" and NS #1071 Author: birdman Excellent perspective with the unit in the background under the bridge. Being a trolley and urban transit fan, I have been taking photos in the area for fifty years and that shot has never occurred to me. A+ for creativity. Wish I had realized that you were at C.P. Ford. I would have introduced myself. It would have been nice to put a face with a name.

Will post a bit later when I finish editing the batch. I'd love to see what you've captured on the Norristown Line through the years... those SEPTA ABB N-5 tin cans have no character what-so-ever! And, yes, it would've been nice to have officially, and finally met! That was quite a crowd at Norristown by the road crossing. /Mitch Date: 11/23/14 07:36 Re: My pics of "Miss Liberty" and NS #1071 Author: Super_C Mgoldman Wrote:

Looking at what I wrote, I obviously forgot to add a ; ) Some time ago, though, I could swear I remember a bunch of folks proclaim they had had their fill of the moniker for #1071. It could've been "Lady Liberty", but I can't seem to find references any longer. All in jest, of course. /Mitch Date: 11/23/14 08:48 Re: My pics of "Miss Liberty" and NS #1071 Author: birdman Mitch,
I switched to digital about 2 years ago. There are about 2000 slides in my collection of Philly area transit over the years including PTC, SEPTA, Red Arrow, P+W, etc. At present, I do not have the capability of scanning them. Dick |
