Eastern Railroad News reports this morning that a Q112 enroute from Chicago to NJ derailed around MP 423 of the former CR Chicago line IIRC. 6 of 10 loaded multi unit intermodal cars in pile up fashion. No reported injuries.

Train jumps tracks in Alden
September 23, 2002

Crews are cleaning up a messy scene in Alden today after a freight train jumped the tracks. Sixteen cars of a CSX train flew off the tracks around 8:30 this morning. It happened between Townline and Wende Roads.

Investigators say that no one was hurt and preliminary reports show no hazardous material spilled anywhere near the scene. CSX crews are trying to determine what caused the accident.
