Today's 67Z in Cloudy Ohio
Author: NS62590

Despite the cold temps and dark skies, for the first time in awhile I had the day off so I went out to railfan a little bit this afternoon, especially to see the 67Z that was discussed on here yesterday - so thanks for those heads ups!

With the low sun angle and no, well... sun, the camera had a hard time focusing today - so don't have many good results. I'll just show you a couple of the shots from today:

1) Roadrailer 261 with NS #2675 in the lead in Columbiana, OH at Pittsburgh Street
2) 20Q with Ex-Conrail NS #6747 heading west.
3) The train of the day! 67Z video through Leetonia from the 344 Bridge
4) Pic of 67Z from CP-Lum, taken off the Route 7 Market Street Bridge

Here's photo 4. NS #3340 #6341 BNSF #280 CREX #1405

Hope you all enjoy, even though the weather sucked! Always good to have a relaxing day by the rails.

Nice clip! Quick question . . why do they run one box car first and last on this unit train?

Did anybody do a car count on this one? It seemed like it was going to go on forever.

Those are buffer cars. To create a "buffer" between the locomotive and the hazardous cars. The rear buffer is for when they add helpers in the PA mountains.
