Eastern Railroad Discussion > Matched ABA F units - questionDate: 12/19/14 14:28 Matched ABA F units - question Author: midwest With the repainting of the Keokuk Junction Railway F9B, the railroad now has a set of ABA F units in matching paint. How long has it been since this has happened in regular freight service on a railroad?
LTV Steel in Minnesota doesn't count since they were a private railroad. Date: 12/19/14 14:34 Re: Matched ABA F units - question Author: toledopatch midwest Wrote:

These locomotives came from Algoma Central, and while they were primarily used there on the passenger trains, they occasionally turned up in freight service -- though I doubt in a complete ABA set. That leads me to believe that the last ABA F-unit set was probably the set that worked the Bessemer & Lake Erie's Western Allegheny Branch in the early 1990s. Edited 1 time(s).
