Coal Tipple on NS at Marion

I took this pic about a year ago and since got a better lens. Took this from trackside off RR property. Came out a lot better. Even had a slug on it.

Was the bottom photo taken on 10/9? I was at Delaware OH waiting to board the OLS train when a WB passed with an ALCO slug as the third unit. Would this be it?

That would be it, as the slug was the third unit. And The OLS was the next train that way.

The best I can read from the going away pic was 9 and looked like 7 as the 2nd #. Could only make out what looked liked the top of a 7. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Could not see 3rd #

Guys, that isn't a "Coal Tipple". That was a locomotive fueling "Coal Dock". A "Coal Tipple" was generally located at a coal mine, and was used for loading hopper cars with various grades/sizes of newly mined & washed coal.
