NS 24M At Berea, Ohio Yesterday
Author: IRP

Yesterday, my Dad and I found ourselves rushing to Berea, Ohio to see 24M with the Conrail and Penn Central Heritage Units. We got there with about a half hour to spare and we were nearly blocked by a CSX train. But we did end up seeing it and I got a pretty neat picture!

Nice shot! However, a couple of PS tweaks makes it even nicer - hope you don't mind.

And I'll second the motion - keep shooting!!

What did you do to it? Did you bump the exposure up?

Sorry, the tweaked version looks very phony to my eye.

Mainly used the "Shadows/Highlights" adjustment. I somewhat agree with the last post - it is a bit over-saturated in this state, hence a little "phony" looking. However, given a bit more adjustments you can brighten it up, bring up details in the shadows, and tone down the color saturation. Of course what constitutes a pleasing end product is quite subjective...

Can I just be the one to ask... why, if NS ordered their ES44s with high headlights, was that horridly ugly hole in the nose where the headlight would have been still there? It just makes their ES44s look so ridiculous.
