Housatonic RR Freight
Author: Ray_Murphy

We didn't expect to see this, but after visiting Canaan (thread below), my son, daughter and I had started our drive back to Montreal when, just north of Sheffield MA, we saw a southbound train on the Housatonic RR, which parallels Route 7.

It took us a few microseconds to decide to chase it and search for a safe turn-around spot.

We got ahead of the train south of Sheffield and chose to find a spot along Route 7A to get a picture. We came to the grade crossing at Rannapo Road, and had to make do with the limited sight lines.

Nice shot of a railroad we don't often see on TO.
