NS 1071, 1074 there now. NS8099 going there. NS 8102 going there and NS 1073 & NS 8098 going there too!

That would make 6 in Allentown.

You're assuming the 1073/8098 will stay on 33A out of Enola.

Also NS6963 Gorail could be going thru too.

8098 and 1073 were in fact taken off of the 33A and are waiting on a new job... so they'll be skipping out on this impromptu reunion for the near-term.

They were sitting by the yard office in Enola this morning... so unless they get ferried over to Harrisburg, they'll probably end up on some sort of junk freight.

In other awesome news, The CNJ and Lackawanna are in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. And you know what originates there? 261, 261, 261...

Per heritageunits.com, they are sitting at CP JU in Bethlehem. Don't know how true it is.

I saw them at lunch and they were buried near JU (which while at the east end of Allentown yard, is actually with the Bethlehem City Limits).

That said there was no 261 power in the pocket at CP88 at that time so who knows.

For you non-believers, here are 8098 and 1073 at Enola this afternoon. Relay power sitting next to the yard office has been known to go west on 37A, 11V, 11G, etc. OR 31T to Montreal via Scranotn/Binghamton. Or about a dozen other trains!!!

As for the 1071 and 1074 at Allentown/Bethlehem, my bet is on 12T also. That seems to be a typical pattern out there, in on a road train, then work a local east, then the Hazleton local, then north / west to Buffalo via Binghamton. I guess we'll see what they are assigned to when it happens.

With my luck it will be 31T and 12T, since I was planning on taking tomorrow off from work to head to the Scranton area, but too many damn meetings where my presence is required.

Sorry kid, 12T power typically doesn't relay to those two trains in Buffalo, their power usually runs through from New England. Maybe to the junk freights out of Buffalo though (don't remember the symbols at the moment.) If that's where the 1071 / 1074 end up.

Right. There has been one recent and noteworthy exception, though - the 8101 just last week relayed from 12T to 205 at Buffalo. Not sure how it happened, but it did. I would more likely expect 12T's power to come out on 287 or 145, but perhaps that day's inbound 205 power relayed to 287 at Buffalo (that has happened, too -- the autoracks that come out of Ayer MA on 205 become part of 287 at Buffalo) and so some other power was needed for 205.

There also have been some cases where 205s and/or 23Ks were all out of kilter coming off PAR (imagine that!) and so an I05 started at Buffalo (I haven't heard I3K nearly as often as I05).

Hey why don't we just wait and see what they're put on instead of all this speculation. It would make your lives much easier!
