W003-28 spent the night at Lordstown Yard yesterday, today W003-29 left Lordstown Yard eastbound around 1010am. I was able to catch them departing the yard and at the next crossing.

I think this was it, Saint Denis, MD, 11/5/10.

It still has no ditch lights.

From my understanding, if a loco has a gyra or mars light, that loco does not need to have ditch lights. The gyralight is considered sufficient. What I'm more surprised at is CSX elected to keep gyralight as it has more moving parts (actually has a motor to rotate the light fixture) than the simple wiring of ditch lights. But hey, I'm not complaining! Just like Metra, those lights look amazing.

Nice photo of the unit as a MARC locomotive. That's a horrible color scheme that they no longer use and I am so glad of that. It never looked good with their passenger cars. Thanks for posting your photo Gerry.

What's the purpose of moving the horn unit?

Great pics!! The first and fifth are my favorites and one of them could be worthy of a Image of the Day in my book.

Room for the AC and FRA regs call for horns to be centered on the unit now.

Did anyone else notice the 9969 has a light blue roof with a thin yellow separator stripe to match the cars? The executive F40s don't have this feature, do they?

Wondering,

Yes the 9969 is painted to match the cars. I don't think the F40s are painted with that stripe.
