K038, a Drone, and New Rail Fan Park
Author: agrafton

Here is a pure aerial video from my Drone in Willard Ohio of the K038 ethanol train passing the new Rail Fan Park at
the east end of Willard Terminal and the start of the NCS, New Castle Sub. In the last few frames there is a “East Willard Remote House “A”
where I take my Drone for servicing, check it out more Drone videos coming.
Thanks, Alan

Did you remove the prop guards off your drone? You keep your drone pretty steady.

Yes, I did remove the prop-guards it seems to help somewhat, I say somewhat as it was extremely windy on that day and I had
a motor going bad which made control difficult. I use carbon fiber props now and they seem to take a rough landing without
any or little damage, had I flown with prop guards you would have seen them every 20 seconds as the Drone can get pretty
radical in the wind handling and not to mention landing. All in all I was pretty pleased with how the video came out.
Thanks, Alan

I have more...:o)

Thanks, I have flown in cold weather and light flurries but not a hard snow there are to many circuits that don't like water/wetness.
That being said, 2 days before we were to leave for Florida and Alabama we had a fresh coating of snow and I decided to fly over the
new fallen snow from my backyard. No problems I made a nice 8 minute flight and circled a big oak tree I have in my yard about 80 plus
feet tall, I have made this flight maybe hundreds if not thousands of times with no problems, and was going around the top of the tree
circle in for a landing in my driveway a 2 and 1/2 car wide driveway. Well I should clear the top and then land....uh oh where's the
Drone oh no it caught at the very top 80 plus feet and there is no way to climb up as a 2 and 1/2 story ladder won't reach the first branch.
\Now I have reservations in Florida and have to leave and a chance of snow the next day. I get on the phone and start calling tree services
but the tress are snow covered and icy and can't find anyone, finally one tree service sends an estimator out and decide a bucket truck
and a climber combo is the only way. OK I got 1300$ sitting up there and any ice or snow could damage it. My neighbor comes home and has a
friend who is a professional climber so I give him a call and he will come out later about 4 oclock, this January 27th and it's getting
dark when the climber shows up. It takes the climber about twenty-twenty-five minutes to reach the Drone snag it and this guy comes down
in about 2 minutes flat and I was impressed he only charged me 150$ I was impressed again plus there was no damage to the Drone.
I kept his card in my wallet for future tree tops.
Alan

things happen ... last year i was flying my Phantom and when the drone changes directions so do the toggle's commands on the controller ... well now that i'm all confused (doesn't take much), mostly from flying inexperience with the controller, i lost control of the drone and it falls from the sky upside on the asphalt ... missed the grass by THAAAAAAAT MUCH ... well it was a blessing it landed upside down ... luckily no damage to the drone or built in camera except for a few cracked prop guards and props ... i lost a brand new 64gig mini SD card ... i grounded myself and hung up my wings for a quite a long time (months) after that ...

Were there tracks in the street on the back side of the park? The cracks in the road seem to be more than just random.
