Working on the High Bridge at Letchworth State Park
Author: MartyBernard

While visiting the Letchworth State Park on September 24, 2007 a Norfolk Southern crew was working on the Erie RR High Bridge.  Here's three photos.

You have to look really carefully to see them in Photo 3.

Enjoy,
Marty Bernard

I just got a nose bleed! ;-)

I have a fear of heights. I get shaky just
going up to the high tread of a step ladder.
That is why I couldn't work for the railroad. :-(

i'm no fan of heights either and am known to freeze in a height fearful situation but i worked on the High Line and the former PRR Schuylkill River Bridge in Philly ... the Perryville Susquehanna River Bridge ... the Delair Delaware River Bridge and the highest of them all the Hell Gate Bridge ...

BaltoJoey, you could always work in the pits under the locomotives!

Work on the replacement bridge RoW has begun with tree cutting on both banks of the river completed just south of the existing bridge. In fact, new photography perspectives have been created.

NY - just below Rochester.  NIce park, you could spend a day there walking
trails, viewing falls, and watching a lmitied number of trains.  The PRR had
a line through the park, parts of the ROW are visitble today.

The Arcade and Attica Railroad is nearby, too.
