Eastern Railroad Discussion > Potomac Eagle Charter - April 2015Date: 04/24/15 06:31 Potomac Eagle Charter - April 2015 Author: JayK Chase Gunnoe Photography hosted a charter on the South Branch Valley Railroad in Romney, WV. on April 18-19 2015. Using the Potomac Eagle's passenger cars and three first generation diesels in classic paint schemes the 75 photographers were treated to 14 different photo opportunities over the two days. We started on Satuday at the fog shrouded Mayhew Trestle. We had bright sun until mid morning on Sunday. Here are a few of my favorites.
1. B&O 6604 on the north end of our passenger train at Mayhew Trestle just south of Romney, WV. 2. B&O 6420 in its Chessie paint scheme in charge of a seven car freight at the same location. 3. A Chessie caboose brings up the rear. More on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/28053622@N05/sets/72157646486066704/ Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 04/24/15 12:21 by JayK. Date: 04/24/15 06:35 Re: Potomac Eagle Charter - April 2015 Author: JayK 1. At the Springfield Cemetery we were joined by a couple and their 1960 Buick Electra convertible.
2. At the entrance to the Hanging Rock Campground in Wapocomo, WV we get a passenger run-by with the B&O F7 leading. 3. Two classic B&O diesels are side by side at Sector siding in Pugitsville, WV. Date: 04/24/15 06:42 Re: Potomac Eagle Charter - April 2015 Author: JayK 1. The night photo session on Saturday featured Chessie/B&O GP9 6420 on a freight train at the Mayhew Trestle.
2. Next up was the B&O F7, a former B&LE unit, on our passenger train. 3. On Sunday we had a short freight train, with our passenger cars tucked in behind, spotted at a number of locations in the Trough south of Romney, WV. I've been on a couple of their railfain-oriented excusrsions and they always put on a fantastic show. Plus, it's one nice piece of RR scenery-wise. Date: 04/24/15 14:58 Re: Potomac Eagle Charter - April 2015 Author: ns1000 GREAT stuff...!!! Thanks for sharing.
