Light engine movement from track one to track two at West Fostoria has one truck on the ground.

Alert the media! Oh, wait....

Probably will tangle up the B&O for a little while, though.

Watch it at railstream.net, the Fostoria East camera.

Is that one of the switches that was just replaced?

Also, you might want to add the word "Minor" to your title

That switch was replaced in April. Every word in the tilte is correct.

Looks to me like they could sneak trains through the site on track #1.

Will walk trains by on track two. Both turnouts were replaced in April. Non track caused derailment as lead set of wheels rode up on point of frog.

It may be correct, but without a qualifier certainly appears more dramatic than it deserves to be.

Minor is relative. Both mains have been tied up for quite awhile and that is not as minor as several cars on the ground in a yard. You are just nit picking.

Corman or Hulchers?.... Get a couple rerailing frogs, some blocking and walk that puppy back on the rail itself.

I'll go with the FRA's reporting threshold for 'minor', which is damage-based, though I probably won't bother [if I even remember] to check to see if this one gets reported to the FRA on that basis.

When I saw the original headline, I imagined it would be something much more significant than one truck out of place, even if fouling both mains.

This quote coming from a reporter makes me chuckle! The media has NEVER over exaggerated a story or situation! NEVER!

We'll get right on it. This Fostoria WRECK obviously needs to be front-page news, based on the TO assessment.

Well, at 6PM not one train has been walked by, the train I believe is derailed on track two........according to those on the Railstream site

Will be quicker to get engine rerailed as Hulcher on the scene also cannot get signal due to crossover being in reverse.

Rerailed!

Hoo boy!  The loco backed off the crossover, then pulled back onto it and derailed again.  Heavy equipment is moving back into place.

They are now taking a closer look at the switch....since the loco derailed there again, I would say the switch points are faulty.

How well did everything work in this unexpected situation without a tower operator present?
