Eastern Railroad Discussion > Classic EMDs On the Big SandyDate: 05/22/15 10:05 Classic EMDs On the Big Sandy Author: CO3124 Some classic EMDs, in the form of a GP38-2 and a GP40-2, are seen leading empty coal train eastbound as it heads for Pikeville, Kentucky. This video was taken at Kavanaugh, Kentucky along the Big Sandy Subdivision at mile post CMG14.6. I believe this was an E426 however with the radio as garbled as it was. I could only make out what the number of the lead engine was on the scanner.

Fritz in HSV, AL Date: 05/23/15 19:36 Re: Classic EMDs On the Big Sandy Author: coach 120 cars! And only a GP-38 and GP-40 to do all the work. B-B axle power takin' care of business--you don't see that very often any more!
