Date: 07/27/15 12:09 Re: The Mighty Tea Kettle Author: jim6300loco super pictures and neat video. Beertrain had a hugh part of making this happen. He is on the Kutztown Bicentennial committee. His assignment was to get railroad excursions for the celebration.
When the planning started 5 years ago he contacted East Penn and they were not interested in making it happen. Then East Penn left the line and the new operators, The Allentown & Auburn were happy to make something happen. So Andy Schlegel (Beertrain) and Mike Bast of the Allentown &Auburn and all of the volunteers of the line made it happen . Thank you to all of you. Jim Schlegel Date: 07/27/15 12:11 Re: The Mighty Tea Kettle Author: jim6300loco By the way that whistle was off of a Reading Steam engine. The famous" READING HOOTER" Next weekend it will have a 6 chime passenger whistle.
Jim Date: 07/27/15 12:30 Re: The Mighty Tea Kettle Author: RDG630 I recognized the whistle as I grew up with that in the late 1940's. Glad I got it on video.
