Eastern Railroad Discussion > NS symbol help Altoona - Cresson SaturdayDate: 07/26/15 20:46 NS symbol help Altoona - Cresson Saturday Author: sscannella Spent a good part of Saturday afternoon shooting about 20 trains between Altoona and Cresson. Many of the intermodal symbols were garbled (plus my hearing is starting to go!), and I was wondering if anyone on here might be able to help me out with the symbols:
EB - 2710 / 9913 / 8820 EB - 9220 / 9637 WB - 9720 / 9931 / 8953 (21J???) EB - 9606 / 6514 (big train with helpers) EB - 9922 / 9516 WB - 9134 / 9125 (23Z???) A lot of those eastbound I see in Harrisburg late-afternoon / early-evening - 20K, 20W, 22W, 24W, 26T, but I couldn't make heads or tails out of the symbols on the scanner. Thanks. Date: 07/27/15 11:53 Re: NS symbol help Altoona - Cresson Saturday Author: septacarczar I can answer one of them for you...
the train with the 9606 and 6514 was 20Q , heading to Morrisville Date: 07/27/15 13:40 Re: NS symbol help Altoona - Cresson Saturday Author: mp109 Sorry, Can't help with the symbols. Didn't see or hear any of those trains on Saturday. We've been spoiled hanging around Harrisburg where the dispatchers usually come through nice and clear and talk to most of the trains! Unfortunately out of range of the dispatchers radio you hear crews who mumble, have lousey radios or "forget" to call signals!
