I've often wondered how the weight of the scale test car is verified...

It notes that it's supposed to be hauled at the rear of the train.  Obviously due to it's light weight, but I thought these cars (at least PRR ones) didn't have air brakes on them, thus they rode at the end of the train, after the caboose.  Is this correct?

if it doesn't have brakes then it can't be on the rear ... working air has to be on the last car thus the caboose or last car with an EOT ...

Not PRR both cars are ex NYC . 80061 is ex NYC 871 Blt 12/1929  the 80057 is ex NYC 860 Blt 8/1925 not the 6/1925 stenciled on the car. Neither have working air brakes just a manual handbrake. They are normally next to the caboose or now last car in train. ------------   Ken McCorry
