This is what A train looks like when caught on weather radar. A series of warm and cold layers allows the heat from the locomotives to become visible to radar.

A former coworker who spent many years as a military air traffic controller mentioned that this could occur under certain conditions.

Doppler radar can catch some very interesting things. Here in Northern Ohio its common in the Summer for it to pick up swarms of mayflies over and just on shore from Lake Erie.
