Eastern Railroad Discussion > One hour at Lock 10 with CSX and Amtrak 08/02/15Date: 08/03/15 08:31 One hour at Lock 10 with CSX and Amtrak 08/02/15 Author: JPB Driving from the NY Southern Tier region to the Boston area this past Sunday, in the two hours trip between Binghamton and Esperance, NY on I-88/rte 7, I was disappointed in seeing only a single CP train. I elected to take a short detour up rtes 30 & 5S to Lock 10 east of Amsterdam, NY on the NYS Barge Canal (across from MP 173 on the CSX Chicago line) where between my 1:30pm arrival and my 2:30pm departure I saw 5 CSX freights and 2 Amtraks. Note the PV bringing up the rear of Amtrak 49 is NYC #3 "Portland".
