Cummins-powered unit in INDR
Author: twropr

I understand that Indiana Rail Road has CELX 1919, a former UP SD9043MAC which had been re-engined with a Cummins QSK-95 prime mover.
Does this unit operate by itself, or is it placed in consists with other locomotives?  What kind of service is it used in?  I believe this is the first application of a Cummins prime mover.  Cummins had made auxiliary engines in the FL-9s for operating head-end power in the past.

Except for a couple of shots that surfaced while this unit was in transit to Indiana, I can't recall having seen much coverage recently. Is it running at all?

It is a former SD90MAC-H 6000hp locomotive, not a SD9043MAC.
