How long has that symbol been running on the Holly? CN used to use that number for its Toronto-North Bay train. Date: 08/28/15 14:11 Re: CN #451 Author: borg At least most of this year.

They still run a A451 from Toronto to North Bay. CN will use the same symbol for multiple trains throughout their system. You'd need the complete symbol to differentiate the trains. CN train numbers are suffixed by a one-digit number indicating where the train originated: 1 - Atlantic Region 2 - St Lawrence Region 3 - Great Lakes Region 4 - Prairie Region 5 - Pacific Region 6 - Michigan Division 7 - Central Division (North) 8 - Wisconsin Division 9 - Central Division (South) Following the number indicating the place of origin is the section(s) of train. 0 - advance section 1 - regularly scheduled section 2 - second section The last two digits indicate date of origin. In this case, A451-61 28 is a Flat Rock, MI - Gibson, IN (IHB) train originating on the 28th. The "61" shows that it is originating in the Michigan Division as the regularly scheduled section. A451-31 would be the Toronto, ON - North Bay, ON train. The "31" shows that it is originating in the Great Lakes Region as the regularly scheduled section. Andrew Posted from iPhone |
