A Bustling Place: Rome NY & A Railfan's Best Bud
Author: ut-1

Just by chance, I came upon BNSF run-through power & its train of oil cars waiting at the Rome, NY Amtrak station on CSX this afternoon. They were being held for a late Amtrak 281 and another westbound, S16129.

This video features 281 entering the station, S16129 blasting by few a few minutes later and K14026 resuming its easterly journey shortly afterwards.

I'm trying to figure out why the train was being held there.  I didn't see any crossovers to allow for an opposing move.  The dog wants to know, too.

Lol, there's track work a few miles to the east of Rome effectively making it a single track railroad. This per my friend who is a dispatcher for CSX out of Selkirk.
