BDRV Remote Control Caboose

Yesterday's NS local H74 heads east on LEHL with a pair of EMD GP59 motors for Three Bridges, NJ to set out a BDRV #596 Remote Control caboose (ex-MMA, ex-CP). Local by Phillipsburg, NJ @ 1409 hrs.

The small track is the Phillipsburg Railroad Historians miniature train.

Track is part of collection from the Centerville and Southwestern Railroad from the Becker's Farm railroad

I believe the blanked-out shield is actually Bangor & Aroostook.

That was an MMA logo; the MMA logo was based on the BAR herald.

Makes any locomotive that is coupled and MU'ed to it into a remote control locomotive. RCL equipment is expensive, and having a car with it, that you can swap around between several locomotives, gives you more flexibility. Your main yard locomotive in the shop for inspection or repairs? Couple the RC caboose to another, and you can still maintain remote operations instead of waiting for a RC equipped locomotive to be available.
