Eastern Railroad Discussion > Snow - Autos - Orange Juice????Date: 02/09/16 14:03 Snow - Autos - Orange Juice???? Author: jwl1973 When it's cold and snowy, what sounds good? Railfanning, of course; and that's what I did for a time this afternoon. Both CSX and NS were busy, so I staked out a place at Glendale, where both lines use CSX (former B&O) between Cincinnati and Hamilton, OH.
Image 1 - A CSX auto rack train (probably Q272 ,which operates between Louisville and Toledo) kicked up snow as it headed north. Image 2 - Tropicana operates an orange juice distribution center at Springdale, OH, a few miles north of Glendale. Juice is loaded in refrigerated cars at Bradenton, FL and carried to Cincinnati on CSX Q042. Y119 takes these cars from Queensgate Yard to the Tropicana facility and returns empties south for the next Q041. Y110-09 had six empty cars, as it headed back to Queensgate this afternoon --- passing the former B&O Glendale depot, now a museum. John Date: 02/09/16 15:26 Re: Snow - Autos - Orange Juice????
