Eastern Railroad Discussion > [FRI] [NJ] Huge fire Lehigh Line mp 38Date: 02/12/16 09:09 [FRI] [NJ] Huge fire Lehigh Line mp 38 Author: Pattenburg NS's traffic on the LEHL line seems to be flowing normally on this Friday morning. Between 8:30 to 10:30 five trains were spotted passing by the industrial complex fire that was still burning for a second day. This image, taken from the Roycefield Road grade crossing, shows 11J waiting on Main 1 (also known informally as the Royce Runner) for two eastbound trains to pass on Main 2. They were intermodals 22V and 212. Barely visible in this scene is the switch, seen off to the left of 11J, that allows for rail access into the facility.

The facility is owned by the federal government, which leases it to a developer. So, it's not subject to stricter state and local laws on fire safety. http://www.nj.com/somerset/index.ssf/2016/02/old_sprinklers_hydrants_cause_problems_at_hillsbor.html#incart_river_home Posted from Android Date: 02/13/16 08:15 Re: [FRI] [NJ] Huge fire Lehigh Line mp 38 Author: Pattenburg Its heritage dates back to WW II when it also served as a POW camp. Up until 2010 there was mercury stored here but it has been removed.
