A couple old work horses still earning a living!
Author: Ron

Thursday afternoon, April 21, 2016, was a pleasant afternoon, but was cloudy and then it started raining around 7:00 PM.
Between about 4:30 and 8:00 PM I was able to catch nine different trains between Battle Creek and Pavilion, Michigan.

This video is two short videos together showing the EJE 667 East, Thursday, April 21, 2016, at about 6:10 PM. At MP 156.80 CN South Bend Subdivision, Scotts, Michigan, and the CN 5303 West, Thursday, April 21, 2016, at about 6:30 PM. At Main Street/36Th Street South - MP 160.16 CN South Bend Subdivision, Scotts, Michigan.

The EJE 667 caught me totally off guard. I was waiting for a Westbound CN 2927 to show up when he went flying by heading east. I was able to get a video, but there is no lead-in, as he was right there!!  when I got the camera started.

The EJE 667 and CN 5303 are both legs of the Battle Creek, Michigan, to South Bend, Indiana, Local Assignment. The crews work west one day, layover in South Bend, and then work back east to Battle Creek the next day.

I caught both of them about 20 minutes apart and only about 6 miles from each other.

I forgot.....but the EJE 667 - SD38-2 was built as the EJE 667 back in November, 1975. And the CN 5303 - SD40-2W was built as the CN 5303 sometime toward the end of 1978.
