CN is in the process of upgrading the signals through Battle Creek. So, right now, most of the new signals are in place, but turned sideways, and the old signals are still being used. I'm not sure of the time table to activate the new ones. Battle Creek wants to make it a "Quiet Zone" and CN will be closing, I think three crossings through town, leaving 11 active crossings. So the new signals cut-over might coincide with the crossing closings. CN is also going to increase the maximum speed limit through town to 40 MPH.
