Shenandoah Junction track lowering almost complete.

The tracks have been lowered, the contractor is pulling out, and about the only thing left is too replace the joined rail with ribbon rail.  As CSX 3312 comes east through Shen, you can see that three of the raols are now ribbon, with one left to change.  There is a section from a temporary crossing back about 500 feet to the east that has not been touched yet.  That part is shown in the image of Amtrak 173.

Interesting...how noticeable is the reduction in track noise with the new welded rail?
