Short story here. I went up yesterday to Mentor to catch the 3 DME's that were coming West. The leader was a CITIRAIL CERX ES44AC #1430, CSX YN3 C40-8 #7510, DME SD40-2 #6367, #6091, & #6201. I had no idea though that he would pass me at about 5 to 10MPH. So right after the engines passed here at Route 615 / Deekers, then I headed west to Route 306 and Tyler Blvd to catch him again stopping at CP 162 and then I headed one more time west to Eastlake to see him go by.

Since he was going so slow, I followed him down to Route 306 and Tyler Blvd at the Hooley House Sports Pub & Grille. Which he stopped at CP 162 because I believe Track 2 was down and only Track 1 was open for East and Westbounds.

Pulled up and stopped before Route 306 and Tyler Blvd at the Hooley House Sports Pub & Grille by CP 162. Notice how there was no sun and the following photo had sun.

3 more. Notice the red hose on the nose of 6367. Is that the computer connection between all units? Also notice the differences between 6091 & 6201's roadname in that 6091 letters are bolder then 6201 and 6367 just uses DME. So 3 different versions of Dakota Minnesota & Eastern.

Then last 3 right after I got though's photos in Mentor, he was still stopped, waited on an Eastbound Ethanol. At that time when he waited for the ethanol which I didn't get photos because I was already heading east on Route 20 to Eastlake Ohio at East 361 Street and waited about 10 minutes and then he cleared Willoughby and then I caught him crossing East 361 crossing. I do have other photos of these units, but these were the ones I thought were the best quality. Great short chase I got that I had no plans of chasing him at all. I knew he was coming. I just got really lucky about the chase. As a side note, I was the only one in this area that seen this train. Jeff ended up leaving 5 minutes before he arrived in Mentor. Something I will always remember on this trip.

And I thought I would share 2 bonus photos of the DME's going away in Eastlake heading west towards Collinwood Yard in Cleveland and then to Willard. I did see they came back east today on the NCS on Q330.

The 3 DME units spent Memorial Day parked in the siding down in Youngstown. Not sure where they went from there.
