Rail Explorers on the W&W
Author: RDG630

A company called Rail Explorers is offering rides on rail vehicles powered by the riders on the Wilmington & Western Railroad until June 14th. The vehicles come in tandem or quad seating.
Here are photos from last Saturday near Yorklyun, DE. Neat concept.

Not sure I want to know what that exchange was all about.

But it if people are interested, these machines can be rented on the Adirondack Scenic as well. They just opened for the year, just in time for black fly season.

Sounds like a cool cool ride once the flies die down. But the ride evidently is a convoy of rail bikes, so your ability to linger in one spot may be a bit constrained. We will give them a try anyway, with lots of sunscreen and insect repellent in the travel kit.   The section of line they're running on is likely to have the rails ripped up soon so it can become a bike/hike/snowmobile trail.
