The line with the webcam is ex-Southern mainline. If there's any CSX trackage in that town, I'm not aware of it.

The NS (exSOU) mainline through Thomasville is actually owned by the state of North Carolina as the North Carolina Railroad.  This includes all the mainline Greensboro-Charlotte plus a line Greensboro-Goldsboro.  NS leases their operating rights over these lines from the state.

In 1989 the legal entity that owned Goldsboro-Morehead CIty (the Atlantic & North Carolina) was merged into the NCRR. In 1998 the State of NC acquired the remaining 25% of NCRR that it didn't already own, and thus the State owns it all between Charlotte and Morehead City.

In 2012 NS renewed the lease of NCRR through 2029, when NS will be able to exercise an option for an additional 15 years.
