These three aerials were taken Saturday morning at the Virginia Railway Express terminus on the CSX (ex RF&P) three miles south of Fredericksburg.  The trainyard is full and the commuter parking lot is empty.

1.  Hardly room for another car in the yard at 11 am on Saturday morning.
2. A southbound Amtrak train speeds past the Crossroads (Spotsylvania) parking lot.
3. The lead to VRE's yard is on the left.  The new third main is not yet tied into the double track.

Thanks.  I see only one platform so I guess that departing and arriving trains use the same track.

That'c correct.  The platform is only on the lead track to and from the yard, the left-most track in Photo 3.

#1 Track ends rather abruptly just south of the signal bridge.

When I went through on the AutoTrain a few weeks ago, there were several sets of panel track in the area.  It wasn't immediately clear how they would be used.
