Saw the local heading west passing through downtown Battle Creek on Tuesday early evening so I headed toward one of my favorite locations to wait for him to show up.

I was able to get a pretty decent video of the train nearing MN Avenue. I would normally have cut off the beginning, but when I could first see him coming around the curve way down the track, I could see he was making a lot of exhaust smoke, so I left almost a minute extra at the beginning. It's probably just about a mile from the MN Avenue road crossing down to where you can begin to see the locomotive. It's actually coming around a curve to the left down there.

I recognized the Locomotive Engineer so after he was gone, I headed west to Pavilion Yard where they had to set off a few cars. 

When they were finished and starting to pull I got another minute or so of video. But I had to hold the camera in my hand, not mounted solid, so it's kind of a shaky minute of video.

A Nikon CoolPix S9400
With a Pedco Ultra Clamp Assembly with 1/4"-20 Screw.

My photograph was taken with the camera mounted on the side window looking into the side mirror.

I took this photograph one day with the thought someone would ask what I'm using. Just imagine the clamp turned around so the adjusting knob is on the inside where I can reach it.
