Eastern Railroad Discussion > Cresson Steel (PA) and hoppersDate: 08/24/16 11:27 Cresson Steel (PA) and hoppers Author: nydepot See this photo for reference: Cresson Steel
I've noticed those covered hoppers at Cresson Steel under the awning by the green building. It's VERY tight clearance on the building side. I haven't been able to figure out if the cars are destined for scrapping or if they are hauling a load. I'm not sure what a scrapper would get in a hopper like that. Maybe they offer hopper unloading access to locals? Any ideas? Thanks. Charles Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/24/16 11:29 by nydepot. Date: 08/24/16 11:39 Re: Cresson Steel (PA) and hoppers Author: WLE2679 I almost think they might be loads going in or out, just because I have seen that switcher moving them around before, but I am not 100% sure.

There is a local that goes to Cresson regularly and drops/picks up those covered hoppers......
