Patience Pays Off
Author: RDG630

Ever since a recently constructed shopping center was built in Birdsboro, Pa I have been wanting to get the new photo angle it offers of the Haines & Kibblehouse stone trains coming from the quarry  to the NS connection. This is the same line, the Wilmington & Northern Branch of the former Reading Company, where I photographed RS3's and GP40-2's on Joanna ore trains in the early 1970's. The  two SD38's were originally DT&I locomotives. Number 2002 has a face painred on the low hood. The F.M. Browns & Sons feed mill makes an excellent photo prop. While it is only about a three mile segment of the W&N it is still good to see trains on the north end of the branch.

Neat shots! Is Adam Dries still an engineer for this operation?

They sounded wonderful, like a dummy I remembered too late I could have put my Smart Phone on a tripod to record it.

Nice photos. Did you happen to take any photos with more of the hopper cars in the picture? Do you happen to know the heritage of,the hoppers with platforms?
