Eastern Railroad Discussion > Finally a 562

Thanks to a tip from a fellow TO'er I had a HU that a 562 was enroute to Shelocta. And I finally, after 21 days working, had an afternoon that I could sneak away from the power plant. So, I headed to Saltsburg to wait and hope. A bit of a wait later the 562 shows up and begins the move to add helpers and head up the branch. This took longer than expected due to switch problems at CP Salts, so the light wasn't ideal. But once the 562 headed north I went to a spot I had staked out earlier. There, along with some friends, I captured some video.

This is just a quick low def vid for TO. I am working on a much longer video of the chase from CP Salts up to Shelocta.

Pictures show the 562 squeeling around the wye at "Locta" and heading for the Keystone power plant.

A nice break from work, and something I had wanted to capture since I started the job in Homer City.

Back to work tomorrow...

For anyone interested, here are the Google Map coordinates for the spot I was standing:

40.541085, -79.370353

It is off of Park Drive, just after Park Drive turns off from Rt 286.
