The 3 F units that NS purchased a few years ago now sit in Cresson, PA awaiting their fate

What a shame they can't be saved and donated.

How about "executive" units for Amtrak CEO Wick Moorman? Also excursion duty.

That "B" unit would look nice between the Wine Train Alco units.  Not a perfect match, but not bad.

The Ontario Southland Railway was looking for a B-unit, I wonder if they know!

Someone call Jeff Willsie!  Does he accept monetary donations to support the cause?

The B unit was also being looked at by another operation out west last I heard.

Where these used as a parts source for NS's F units?

No, they were purchased during the Moorman era to be rebuilt into additional units.  They sat at Altoona for quite some time, but were never touched.  With Moorman's retirement and the economic downturn for the railroad, the plan died.

That CP B unit might not have a prime mover in it. 2 B units were used on the Alyth (Calgay) hump sandwiched between GP9's for years. One was converted to a slug, which I believe is the 1019, the other remained a working unit unitl retirement. Not sure if the 1019 kept her prime mover after slug conversion.

A "B" unit without a prime mover would seem like an excellent container for a power generator unit

OSR certainly had a heads up, I sent it.  They also know about the one in Alamosa.

the #1019 did in fact keep its prime mover as ballast following slug conversion.
