Eastern Railroad Discussion > Didn't plan on going...CR 546 and Interstate 14N.

Hadn't planned on going anywhere this am as I noticed on HU that the NS 8098 CR had gone thru Conway at around 0330 hours. Made my coffee and then got a message from my friend Todd in Mansfield that the CR had hit a car. So much for the coffee as I then headed east towards Alliance. By the time I got there the 546 was moved up to a private crossing as NS personnel and an adjuster wanted to see the 546 crew and inspect the NS 8098 for any damage. First picture is of the NS 546 with one of the four vehicles that were on scene. PIcture number  two is of the NS 546 parked at the privatge road crossing. Slight damage to the lower right of the plow and part of the stairs were bent a tad. Picture number three is of the NS 14N which was sent down the Bayard. This picture is at the route 30 crossing just east of Minverva, Ohio. The building to the left is what used to be Hoope's Fertilizer which caught fire about a week ago. Took ten fire departments to quench the fire. Four hopper cars were still there and the building was still smoldering...

Lastly at Salineville, Ohio...got pretty dark after this as the skies opened up. Nice day just wish I would have had some sun. Have a good humpday tomorrow everyone.

Yes John and I thought it added a little to the photograph...Used to be double main here when the PRR had it. The train the track is on was main one.

Nice catch on my number 1 most wanted and ironically its not for me.  I do have to ask what were the last two units on 14N?
