CSX announced results for the fourth Q of 2016 which met expectations, but offered a sober outlook for 2017. Coal remains uneven, coal exports may be challenged by a strong and strengthening dollar.  Imports may be subject to trade pressures, even though a strong dollar would usually be good for imports into the US.  (A strong dollar makes it easier to buy products  denominated in yuan, yen, euro, etc. But it raises the cost that buyers in China, etc pay to import US goods)

CSX noted that productivity has increased.
