1999 post merger and last Conrail repaint question
Author: WLE2679

Hello-

I am going through the task of putting into archival safe photo pages print photos.   I came across this motive power consist in 1999 in Altoona.   I actually just took a photo of the photos with my camera instead of scanning to see the results, without distortion.   The B36-7 is the only patch we saw in blue and 4093 was the only B23-7R we caught, but was the 7717 the last Conrail unit painted in Conrail blue (not counting 8098)?  This consist pulled engines from Juniata, but not sure of the train symbol back then.  Thanks for your help.

I have a bunch of Conrail photos from my years being trackside both CSX and NS.  I was on the mission to get Conrail for my dad before the Conrail era ended-straight from my dad.  I also know my high school friend Aric Allen has quite a few NS and CSX Ex Conrail loconotive pictures.  Let me know if you can use any of them for this.

Wow, I was unaware that ANY Conrail engines got renumbered the way the 3603 did, with full-sized Conrail-font numbers rather than a white or black patch. Thanks for posting that!
