Eastern Railroad Discussion > A Union Pacific Business Train Hardware QuestionDate: 02/21/17 13:55 A Union Pacific Business Train Hardware Question Author: NSSpike The Union Pacific Passenger Train left Atlanta this morning heading west on the Norfolk Southern Alabama Division East End District operating as NS 955. The “Presidential Special” with senior executives from the UP / NS & KCS was through west Georgia before noon eastern today with meets in Bremen and Tallapoosa Georgia.
#1 NS 955 west bound just east of Villa Rica Georgia with UP 2718 in the lead. (Note the elevated hardware mounted aft of the cab with cabling run through the conductors window) #2 Rear car UPP203 Idaho #3 When the train traveled east last week the elevated hardware mounted on top of the #2718 did not exist? The counterpart hardware on the rear car appears to be a permanent mounting. Understand that the head end temporary mount has to be easily adapted to different head end power applied. Just what is? Some type of communications hardware???
