Eastern Railroad Discussion > Wheeling & Lake Erie #6317Date: 02/26/17 03:34 Wheeling & Lake Erie #6317 Author: jmbreitigan While walking the Westland Branch trail near Westland, PA. I saw that the W&LE WE643 had brought some empty tank cars into Mark West Liberty's yard ( Marcellus Gas ) After my walk I noticed the train was getting ready to leave with 36 loaded tank cars. At this time of day there are not a lot of spots with favorable light so I decided on a spot near Southview, PA. The blue #6317 looked pretty clean and it was leading coming out and I thought it was worthy of a few photos.
1. WE 643 climbs the grade of the Westland Branch with 36 loaded tank cars from Mark West Liberty's Houston Rail Yard in Westland, PA. onto the W&LE main. 2. W&LE #6384 brings up the rear of the train and after getting on the main at "George" ( Control Switch ) it will then lead the train to rook yard in Carnegie, PA. The Galati road crossing is behind the train. 3. This view provides a picture of the control Switch at "George" Thanks for looking, John Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/26/17 03:35 by jmbreitigan.
