My railroad career began on Penn Central "West Shore" and continued to the end of Conrail. Many years were spent on this magnificent piece of Railroad. It was a rickety 10 to 30 mph "cow path" in the 70's. It has evolved into a well maintained and heavily used corridor for the CSX. To this day it remains close to my heart. Please post more of the Riverline and the Hudson Narrows. It does not receive the coverage it deserves. Thanks again for your post!

I spent a lot of time on the ledges, northwest of the Iona Island trestle. With the bowl effect, it had light later than much of the Hudson canyon. But, "sunset" was a lot earlier with the Palisades a few hundred feet west, right at 9W. |
