Has anyone heard about CSX leasing a few CitiRail ES44ACs? I heard they leased at least 20 and some of those units are currently in service now in the northern states.

It seems they are. On Sunday, 3/19, I remember catching a solid set of three leading Q368 into Russel, KY. There was also a report of two citirails leading Q348 into Indy on Monday.

3 of them came east out of Cincinnati on Q316 this week. They left grafton for Cumberland Wednesday afternoon. 1 of them came back from Cumberland and broke down leaving Keyser on 17 mile grade. Sorry I don't have the unit #'s that came thru.

Why would they need too? Thwy are closing half the railroad now.

I was asking just to double check with what I've been hearing recently. I was thinking the same thing when I first heard about this.

Retirements of some older units on the horizon?

I wouldnt be at all surprised if they retired some of their older SD models.

Yes there has been at least 8 Citirail engines thru Willard on 4 different trains in the past 3 days and another 2 of them today in Willard

 Here are some numbers that have been thru Willard the las 3 days
1511-1516 1505-1514 1518-1525

The units are moving from St. Louis (Rose Lake) to Avon.  Usually they have been on Q638, which now runs at night.  1506, 1513 and 1519 arrived in Avon this morning.  As of today I have heard that there are 15 on the railroad between numbers 1500 and 1525.
