While on my monthly aerial photo flight, I managed a chance meeting of east/southbound NS 35Q and west/northbound NS 290 just south of the wye at Manassas, VA.

1.  Backlit view of the meet.  NS 290 is one the right waiting for 35Q to clear the single-track B-Line.
2.  35Q entering the former Southern mainline with the small freight yard in the upper left.
3.  A sunny-side view of 290 diverging onto the B-Line.  I knew it was 290 because of the long cut of auto racks on the head end.

4.  The rear of NS 290 as motorists grow impatient.

Good shots.   That curve is pushing the envelope.  Is that 22" snap track?    Can you carry and use a RR scanner in the cockpit? 

OK Fans   Cast your votes.  Do you prefer manned aircraft or drone foam? 

If you think that wye is tight, you should have seen the old one
It was on other side of building with brown roof

I am going to be there or by airport for circus train tomorrow

When do you expect the circus train?  What direction and destination?    No....no scanner in the cockpit.  Ironically,I had seen 35Q on the once-free Shenandoah Jct. webcam around 9 am.

Cinder, It is going to Fairfax, so north. Saw on another thread it was leaving Richmond at 11am

If that is today's 290, leader was Monongahela 8025.

How much freight traffic is there through Manassas?
