Eastern Railroad Discussion > Securing the Rail SystemDate: 01/29/05 07:19 Securing the Rail System Author: dsktc From today's Washington Post.
To briefly quote from the article: "Jonathan Fleming, TSA's chief operating officer, said most of the rail security work has been behind the scenes. "We didn't take over security operations in rail the same way we did in aviation, so it may look different," Fleming said. "It might not be as visible or as sexy, but we've certainly been working on it since the early days." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A45575-2005Jan28.html Dave Date: 01/29/05 08:35 Re: Securing the Rail System Author: ExceptedTRAK dsktc Wrote:

Many aren't registered with these sights and doing so often turns into spam fodder.

copyright protected. Why would you not want to read one of America's most influential newspapers? It would be helpful to summarize (in your own words) the article and include the link. If someone really wants to sign up for their site, they will. But many people here will not, so many of us will never know what this story is about. I signed up for a smaller newspaper in California that someone on this site linked an article to. A week after I registered for that site, I started receiving emails from a radio station in the same town. Over a year later, I still get their monthly newsletters (which do me a lot of good in Ohio) and I have still not been able to get them to stop sending them! I admit this could be a coincidence, but I doubt it. Date: 01/29/05 10:10 Re: What would really help Author: csxt4617 MarkW78 Wrote:

But many people > here will not, so many of us will never know what > this story is about. just use a fake email address...once you register, it shows you the article. I do it all the time. Screw their email gathering techniques :) I also like to mess up their demographics. I usually register as the CEO of a company, female, born in the early 1900's, from Alaska.
